"I'm closer to the stars than you,"

 my daughter proudly said.

I had to laugh--her point of view:

three feet above my head--

so limited as to the vast expanse of space.

 

She views the heavens much as men

of wizened ages past

who could not reach beyond the ken

of knowledge then amassed--

so limited as to the smallness of our place.

 

"My holiness is greater far than yours"

a brother proudly said.

I had to laugh...
